James Leroy Bottorff

James Leroy Bottorff, 78, of Seligman, Mo., died Saturday, March 26, at hishome. He was born Oct. 30, 1932, at St.

Paul, Minn., to Orval Benson Bottorff and Edith June Stein Bottorff.

He was a member of the School Safety Patrol in St.

Paul during 1946-47. He was a retired staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a mail clerk, served in Japan and Korea, made two secret missions to Viet Nam, and received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a drug abuse program director in California; worked for Banton Funeral Home in South Dakota as a mortician, ambulance driver and floral designer.

He was a presidential side to Richard Nixon and served in the Congress of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.

He worked for the Johnson, Ark., Police Department and Washington County Sherriff’s Office.

He was a law enforcement office for the city of Seligman, Mo., mayor pro temp, museum curator, alderman and worked in the emergency management office.

He had several pawn shops, gun shops, flea markets and auctions in the area, and was a member of the Rogers American Legion Post 100. He was a Lutheran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, James Leroy Buttorff Jr.; and one sister, Patricia Parks.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly (whom he married Dec. 2, 1992), ofthe home; three sons, Allen Bottorff of Middleton, Wisc.; Mark Bottorff of Jamestown, Calif.; and Ty Bottorff of Rogers, Ark.;

five daughters, Mary Lee of Fayetteville, Ark., Kim Hoagland of Goodman, Mo., Sherry Gideon of Anderson, Mo., Becky Flesner of Oskaloose, Iowa, and Carey O’Brien of Pineville, Mo.; one brother, Dean Bottorff of Sioux Falls, S.D.;

19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

A memorial service is set for 5 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with full military honors by Rogers American Legion Post 100.

Claude ‘Ron’ Corbin

GARFIELD - Claude “Ron” Corbin, 65, died March 21, 2011, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1945, in Salinas, Calif., to the late Elmer and Ovie (Moore) Corbin.

He was the loving husband of the late Brenda (Garren) Corbin.

Ron was a handyman for National Home Center for years before retiring. He was an avid motorcyclist most of his life and an Army veteran.

Mr. Corbin was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie LeMoore and Gerald Wayne Corbin.

Survivors include his son, Ronnie Corbin of Arizona; daughter, Gina Phinney of Rogers; and stepson, Lee Edward Brazeal.

Funeral services were at10 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, in the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, 1000 Gutensohn Road, Springdale.

Burial followed at the National Cemetery, Fayetteville.

Roy Monroe Renfrow

Roy Monroe Renfrow, 73, of Bella Vista, died Saturday, March 26. He was born Dec. 1, 1937, at Kansas City, Mo., to Pete Monroe Renfrow and Ethel Rose Isley Renfrow.

He was employed at Tyson Research and Technology as a master electrician.

He was a member of Fianna Hills Baptist Church in Ft.

Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Stacey Taylor;

five brothers; and six sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Renfrow of the home; four daughters, Shiela Stadler and Ken of Ft. Smith, Sherry Grace Woodward and Wayne of Pea Ridge, Sabrina Rodgers and Bruce of Greenwood, Mo., Shelly Spaulding and James of Bella Vista; one brother, Pete Monroe Renfrow of Springfield, Mo.;

15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at First Baptist Church in Garfield with pastor Ken Stadler officiating.

William Russell Mayes Sr.

SPRINGDALE - William Russell Mayes Sr., 56, of Springdale, died March 23, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center of Springdale.

He was born Jan. 17, 1955, in Fayetteville, Ark., to William Eugene and Dorthy McKee Mayes.

He retired from the United States Navy in 1992.

He then worked as a federal police officer with the Department of Defense in New Orleans and later with TSA. He enjoyed playing music and was talented in playing many different instruments.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Drain.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Bender Mayes of the home; two sons, William Russell Mayes II and wife, Natasha, of Clinton, Ark., Blake Hunter Mayes of the home; stepson, Timothy “Rusty” Williams of Bethel Heights; daughter, Penny Candance Bowers and husband, Nathaniel, of Avoca, Ark.;

stepdaughters, Tifanee Williams of Springdale, Tabitha Williams of Lucedale, Miss., and Alyssa Snyder of Sandy Creek, N.Y.; sister, Connie Smith of Wolfe City, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were at noon Friday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

Burial was in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Pallbearers were: William Mayes II, Jimmy Varner, Rusty, Williams, Curt Ayers, Mike Borgmeier, and Nat Junior.

Olen J. Webb

Olen J. Webb, 91, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Bentonville, Ark., died onThursday, March 24, 2011, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was bornon May 31, 1919, in Pea Ridge, Ark., to Ernest and Pearl Webb.

He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Rogers, a 30 year member and Past President of the Bentonville Kiwanis Club, President of the Benton County 4-H Foundation for 24 years, served 42 years on the Benton County Fair Board and a member of the Bentonville Chamber of Commerce and BPOE #2144 Lodge.

He was a decorated WWII veteran, serving as an Army Tech Sergeant in a Combat Engineering Battalion. He retired from Kraft Foods after 33 years of service.

He was an avid gardener, loved fishing and camping on Beaver Lake, hunting, traveling, and supporting the Razorbacks in all sports.

Olen was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Etta Webb; his brother, Mitchell Webb;

and one, sister Ora Wood.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Carmichael Webb, whom he married Dec. 17, 1995; one son, Mike Webb and wife, Leona; and daughter, Cindy Compton Tomlin of Bentonville, anddaughter, Suzanne Middleton and husband, Tom, of Mountain Home; one stepson, Buddy Carmichael and wife, Connie, of Collierville, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Sheryl Mabry and husband Lindell of Rogers and Pam Simpson and Joe Fletcher of Hiwasse; six grandchildren,Kayla Middleton and husband, Rick, of Mountain Home, Todd Webb and wife, Jenny, Jim Webb and wife, Kellie, Drew Compton and Katy Compton, all of Bentonville, and Aaron Webb and wife, Shannon, of Bella Vista; seven step-grandchildren, Todd Carmichael, Michelle Verser and husband, Jason, Russlyn Mabry, all of Rogers, Tammy Santibanez and husband, Manny, of Germantown, Tenn., Ashley Camplain and husband, Brent, of Maumelle, Ark., Megan Johnston and husband, Mike, of Lakeland, Tenn., and Nichole Simpson of Fayetteville, Ark.;

seven great-grandchildren;

and six step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Rakes and husband, Richard, San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27, 2011, at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Rogers, with the Rev.

Shawn Wallace officiating.

Burial followed at Oakley Chapel Cemetery, Rogers.
