Art gallery visitors increase

— The Pea Ridge Primary and Intermediate schools’ art students have attracted over 200,000 visitors to its web art gallery since its inception two years ago.

This year, in the month which is recognized nationally as “Student Art Month,” Pea Ridge students celebrated by having their art on display at several locations at the same time. Students have their work on display at two locations in Little Rock, one location locally, with displays to be active next month in Springdale and this June in Tulsa.

As a part of their “Celebrate Art” exhibition and competition, Pea Ridge student artwork is to be featured in next month’s edition of the “Callboard,” the official publication of the Arts Center of the Ozarks inSpringdale.

The ACO will also be having their elementary aged competition with submissons due April 1. At present, three Pea Ridge artists have their work on display at the Arkansas Studies Institute building in Little Rock with 20 more artists having their work on display in Little Rock while being judged for the “Collaboration of the Ozarks”competition. About 30 more students will be involved with the ACO show.

All artwork done by Pea Ridge students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are on display on its Artsonia webpage www.artsonia.com/pearidge2. Artwork done for the past two years is also availalbe for viewing in the archive section. The Pea Ridge gallery was established in 2009.
