PEA RIDGE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Incidents reported to the Pea Ridge Police Department this week include:

Three warrants served:

◊3/1 Sharla Billips, 40, Fayetteville, contempt failure to pay fines and costs;

◊3/1 Kami Payton, 23, Pea Ridge, failure to appear;

◊3/4 Steven Reed, 27, Bella Vista, failure to appear;

◊3/7 Brandon Rice, 20, Flippin, contempt failure to pay fines and costs; and

◊3/7 Cory Noble, 21, Rogers, contempt failure to complete defensive driver’s course.

Other incidents include: Monday, Feb. 28

9 a.m. Theft of property was reported by a resident on Hayes Street who said that sometime since Christmas, someone had stolen three hubcaps off a 1978 El Camino parked at the residence.

Tuesday, March 1

5:05 a.m. Were dispatched to stand by with the ambulance to a medical call at a residence on Weston Loop, but were cleared from the scene when the ambulance arrived.

9 a.m. An abandoned vehicle was reported on Cherry Street. The owner was located. He reported it was broken down and he was waiting for the money to purchase the parts to repair it.

1:15 p.m. A traffic stop in the Subway parking lot resulted in the arrest of the passenger, Carolyn Cieszynski, 28, of Lowell, for outstanding warrants from Rogers and Lowell.

3:23 p.m. A resident on Halleck Lane reported the theft of property involving renters who had stolen various tools from an outbuilding when they vacated the premises.

5 p.m. Police were dispatched to a verbal disturbance at the Kings Lane apartments. Police spoke to parties involved who agreed to be quiet with their disagreement.

8:40 p.m. Received a call from the Arkansas State Police investigator with the Crimes Against Children division of possible sexual abuse against a 4-year-old female. The investigation revealed that the allegations were unfounded.

Wednesday, March 2

7 am. Were dispatched to a residence on Eagle Crest to investigate a 911 hangup. While at the residence, it was determined that one of the individuals there had outstanding warrants from Little Flock and Bella Vista. Christopher Ennis, 33, Pea Ridge, was arrested on those warrants.

9 a.m. Met with an individual from Lynn Drive who reported an illegal dump behind the storage building at Kings Lane. Upon investigation, it was confirmed. Attempts to contact the owner and/or manager of the apartment complex were unsuccessful.The investigationinto the incident continues.

1 p.m. Were advised by Rogers police that they had an individual on a Pea Ridge warrant for failure to appear. Police picked up Charles Hughes, 23, Bella Vista.

7:39 p.m. A 911 call from a resident on Charles Street who reported that a female had asked to use his telephone to report that someone had broken into her house on Richards Street, but who then locked herself into his bathroom. Upon investigation, it appeared the woman was ill.The ambulance was called and transported a 31-year-old white female to the hospital.

Thursday, March 3

2:30 p.m. A woman reported finding two bicycles in a shed on her property east of the fire station on Hickman Road.

Both bicycles were determined to be the bicycles which were stolen from residences in town earlier. Owners were notified and the bicycles were returned.

Friday, March 4

2 a.m. Were requested by Little Flock police for back-up to a group of males fighting in the parking lot of the Woods Lane Apartments. Police assisted in the arrest and transportation of those persons to the Benton County Jail.

2 p.m. Were asked to check the welfare of a resident on Lynn Drive. Checked and the man was fine.

1:29 p.m. A resident on Washburn Street reported finding two stray dogs - beagles - which were picked up and taken to the Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

1:30 p.m. Advised of illegal dumping in the area of Battlefield Subdivision by an anonymous tip from someone who said they saw someone dumping something in a field. Upon investigation, police spoke with a resident who said he was dumping dirt from his yard into the field.

2:27 p.m. A possible disturbance at N. Davis and Patton streets where police found a 17-year-old male and 15-yearold female involved in a verbal argument.

They were checked and released.

3:15 p.m. Were dispatched to the Pea Ridge Middle School in reference to a student who had possibly taken prescription medications. The student was released toa parent who reportedly took the youngster to the emergency room.

Saturday, March 5

8:15 a.m. An alarm call at Pea Ridge Middle School. A door was found unlocked. The principal arrived and secured the door. The building was checked, secured.

9:20 a.m. A 911 call from a residence on Price Street was investigated and discovered to be an accident.

1:52 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Hickman Drive in reference to a possible stabbing. Upon arriving they found a 51-year-old male who said his roommate’s friend had threatened him with a knife, whereupon he pulled a “bigger” knife and the man left. The aggressor was purportedly intoxicated. Police alerted Central Communications with a description of the man and the vehicle, which was later stopped by Bentonville police, who arrested the driver, Kevin VanKirk, 32, for DWI. Pea Ridge police questioned him and he was charged with felony aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.

Sunday, March 6

8:10 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Lynn Drive in reference to a possible suicidal subject. Upon arrival, determined the 61-year-old male to be intoxicated and depressed. Ambulance personnel were called, but the man refused transport.

10:45 p.m. Police checked the welfare of the resident on Lynn Drive again.

11:59 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Lynn Drive for a 61-year man who wanted to go to the hospital.

Monday, March 7

8 a.m. Contacted by a relative of the 61-year-old male resident on Lynn Drive for a welfare check.

5:37 p.m. Verbal disturbance on Richards Street; both parties were separated and a verbal warning was given for no trespassing.

5:40 p.m. Assisted the Fire Department with a fire alarm at an empty building (formerly the theater) on N. Curtis Ave. after a broken window was found.

The building was searched, no fire was discovered.

Persons from northeast Benton County booked into the Benton County Jail this week include: Tuesday, March 1

9:28 p.m. Sharla Marie Billips, 40, Fayetteville, was arrested by BCSO for failure to appear and contempt form Pea Ridge and failure to appear from Benton County Sheriff’s Office. She was being held Monday in lieu of a $1,885 bond.

Wednesday, March 2

12:42 p.m. Charles Richard Hughes, 22, Rogers, was arrested by Pea Ridge Police for failure to appear. He was being held Monday in lieu $1,075 bond.

Thursday, March 3

8:32 a.m. Christopher Eugene Ennis, 33, Rogers, was arrested by Pea Ridge Police for two failure to appear charges.

6:34 p.m. Kyle Lee Wilson, 29, Rogers, was arrested by BCSO for five failure to appears, one of those being in Little flock, and contempt. He was being held Monday in lieu of $35,770 in bonds.

Sunday, March 6

11:14 p.m. Kevin Matthew Barnett, 40, Seligman, Mo., was arrested by Rogers Police for failure to appear and a Fayetteville warrant.

Monday, March 7

10:26 a.m. Brandon Wayne Rice, 20, Rogers, was arrested by BCSO for contempt in Pea Ridge, and failure to appear. He was being held Monday in lieu of a $2,150 bond.
