— Open house set

Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will host an open house for prospective students and their families from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 12, at the campus in downtown Hot Springs.

Tours of the school will be available every half hour beginning at 9 a.m. Students will have the opportunity to talk to current students and teachers.

ASMSA is one of 14 public residential high schools specializing in the education of advanced juniors and seniors. Enrollment is open to all Arkansas students who meet the academic criteria with free tuition, room and board. Interested students should apply during their sophomore year.

Students entering school in the fall of 2012 will get to live in the new residence halls currently under construction.

Pea Ridge High School Punch cards available

Athletic Punch Cards are available and can be purchased only at the superintendent’s office. Adult cards are 10 games for $32 and student cards are 10 games for $24.

◊7 p.m. Monday, March 7 - A pre-contest concert in the high school gym featuring the PRHS Jazz Band, PRHS Concert Band and special guest performers “Naturally Brass.”

◊11 a.m. Saturday, April 30 - PRHS band in the Eureka Springs Music Festival.

◊7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 - Middle School and High School Spring Band Concert in the PRHS gym.

◊7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 - Band Banquet and Awards Ceremony in the PRHS cafeteria for all band students.

◊Bella Vista VFW Memorial Day Service - Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at theBella Vista Cemetery (high school band)

◊2 p.m. Sunday, May 8 - 7th-, 8th- and High School bands’ performance of the National Anthem at the NWA Naturals baseball game at Arvest Ballpark, Springdale.
