Savannah Gabrielle Paula Martin

Savannah Gabrielle Paula Martin, 7, of Lawton, Okla., died Feb. 20, 2011, at Southwestern Medical Center, Lawton, Okla. She was born Sept. 10, 2003, in Rogers, Ark., to Thomas Joseph “T.J.” Martin and Beth Mason Martin.

She had lived in New York prior to moving to Lawton in December 2007.

Survivors include her mother, Beth Martin of Lawton, Okla.; her father, T.J. Martin of Cache, Okla.;

two brothers, Tristen Martin and Tommy Martin, both of Lawton, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Keith and Barbara Anne Mason of Lowell, Ark.; paternal grandfather, Tom Tenbrook of Gentry, Ark.; aunt, Ruth Sanchez and husband, Christian, of Lowell, Ark.;

uncle, Marcus Duffy andwife, Brittany, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; aunt, Nicol Butler and husband, Russell, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and numerous cousins.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, prior to the service at Wasson Funeral Home.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Savannah Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Arvest Bank location. The fund is designed to pay for a child’s attendance to Autism Concepts Inc. in Edmond, Okla.

Hasan Selcan Ozkan

Hasan Selcan Ozkan, 69, of Little Flock, Ark., died Feb. 23, 2011. He was born Sept. 3, 1941, in Turkey, to Mustafa Sadik and Fatma Muazzez.

Survivors include his wife, Dorris Ann Ozkan of the home; a daughter, Muazzez Arzu and husband, Eric, of Pacifica, Calif.; stepchildren: Askin Civelek of San Francisco, Calif., David Brewer and his wife, JoEllen, and Michael Brewer, all of Rogers of Rogers, Charlie Brewer and his wife, Belinda, of Pea Ridge, and Annette Beard of Pea Ridge; siblings, Suphan, Can and Vildan, all of Istanbul, Turkey; 21 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Meral in 2001;

and his daughter, Can Burcu in 1998.

Islamic burial services were held Friday under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home with burial in Fitzgerald Cemetery in Springdale, Ark.

Frances ‘Fay’ Mildred Koeppel Scherer

Frances “Fay” Mildred Koeppel Scherer, 90, died Feb. 28, 2011. She was bornFeb. 11, 1921, in Berkeley, Ill., to Matthew Koeppel and Gertrude Gay Koeppel.

She attended Sunnyside Grammer School in Berkeley, and Proviso TownshipHigh School in Maywood, Ill.

She married Richard Scherer in Bellwood, Ill., June 21, 1941.

She worked for Borg-Warner Corporation as a secretary in the engineering division until she retired in l982. Fay and her husband lived in Bellwood until 1983, when they moved first to Rogers, and then to Pea Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Koeppel and Gertrude Koeppel Wagner; a son, Richard Scherer II; her husband, Richard Scherer;

a brother, Matthew Koeppel; two sisters, Ruth A. West and Shirley Berliner;

a sister-in-law, Anne Koeppel; and three brothersin-law, Martin A. West, Lyell G. Sandford and Kirt Berliner.

Survivors include asister, Gertrude A. “Pat” Sandford of Rogers; two sons, Lin M. Arian of Pea Ridge and Marc R. Scherer of Wadsworth, Ill.; six grandchildren, Margaret F. Millard, Charles B. Millard III and his wife, Laura, Isabel M. LaBarbera and her husband, John, Katherine G. Schukat and her husband, Richard, Lincoln R. Scherer and Sarah L.

Scherer; and five greatgrandchildren, Rachel T. Schukat, Cassidy N.

Schukat, Joseph C. LaBarbera, Charles B. Millard and David J. LaBarbera.

Arrangements for cremation were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

There will be no services in Pea Ridge. Her ashes will be transported to Illinois for services.
