4-H students succeed at district O’Rama

— Forty-nine 4-H’ers from Benton County competed with 4-H’ers from 25 other Arkansas counties at their District O’Rama in Ozark, Ark. Competitions included speech divisions, constructed and purchased fashion revue’s, bicycle, forestry, reel into sportfishing, baitcasting, BB shooting, performing arts in dance, instrumental, vocal and horticulture. Junior competitors are 4-H’ers ages 9-13 and senior competitors include 4-H’ers 14-19 years of age.

The following brought home first place honors in their competitions:

Cannonball 4-H: Holly Holmes-Smith, Jr. Health;

and Jennifer Isgrigg, Sr.

Horse;

Battlefield 4-H: Ty Connolly, Jr. Citizenship;

Apple Spur 4-H: Casey Jarding, Sr. Casual Purchased Fashion Revue;

Rebekah Rheingans, Sr. Human Development; and Mikaela Chatman, Sr. Dance;

Second Place winnings went to:

Cannonball 4-H: Tiffany Wyatt, Sr. Pet Care;

Homespun 4-H: HowieStettmeier, Sr. Ornamental Horticulture;

Third place included:

Homespun 4-H: Brittany Stettmeier, Sr. Animal Science; and Charles Nystrom, Sr. Forestry;

Apple Spur 4-H: Logan Russell, Jr. Baitcasting;

Fourth and Fifth Place winners were:

Cannonball 4-H: Timothy Wyatt, Sr. Bicycle;

Apple Spur 4-H: Jamie Jarding, Jr. Casual Constructed Fashion Revue;

The delegates elected a district vice president to serve on the State Officer Team for 2011-2012.
