TRAILS CLOSED

PEA RIDGE — Pea Ridge National Military Park horse and hiking trails will be closed until further notice.

Both trails received heavy damage from straight line winds during the night of June 14. The park staff will be working over the next few weeks to remove down trees and hanging limbs that pose a threat to the visiting public.

All efforts will be directed to getting the trails cleared of all hazards and back open in the least amount of time necessary. Work will continue on improving the trails and the park staff asks that visitors report any downed trees or excessively muddy areas to staff at the Visitor Center.

For the next few weeks visitors are encouraged to call the park at 451-8122 prior to their arrival to check the status of the trails.
