School field day was great fun

— Field Day, the annual celebration on the last day of school atGarfield was held Friday, June 3, at Garfield Elementary School. The physical educationcoach, Randy Steen, was in charge.

He arranged for the students to play lots of fun indoor and outdoor games.

I liked the water games the best because it was exhaustingly hot outside. We also had indoor activites like trivia (Are you Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?) and bingo. At the end of the day, the parents and teachers played whiffle ball against the fifth-grade students. Theother students sat on the playground and watched.

We all had a great time and enjoyed it.

Every year the parents and teachers win the whiffle ballgame and wouldn’t you know, they won again this year!

Maybe when I am in the fifth grade, we can do something to change that.

I want to thank the Garfield PTO for running the concession stand. This was a new part of our Field Day and it was awesome having all those tasty snacks. I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did on Field Day.

Have a great summer and I’ll see you all next school year.
