PEA RIDGE — Pea Ridge High School Alumni Association Alumni Day 2011 will be Saturday, July 9, at the Pea Ridge High School Cafeteria.

Graduates from all years are invited to the event, as well as teachers, administrators and anyone who attended Pea Ridge schools in past years.

Alumni Day has been sponsored annually by the PRHS Alumni Association since 2006. The event opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, with coffee and donuts and opportunities for reconnecting with former school friends and meeting other former students of the Pea Ridge schools. A drawing for prizes will be held every hour.

Planning sessions for Alumni Day activities will be held weekly, beginning June 14 and until the weekof July 9. To be involved in the planning and preparations, contact Jerry Nichols by phone at 621-1621, or by email at pralumni@prark.

The Alumni Association is currently kicking off a new fundraising project in support of the Alumni Scholarship Program.

The Alumni Association is selling Kijaro Pea Ridge Blackhawk chairs.

Watch for Blackhawk chair displays at significant community events and business places. Check out the Blackhawk chair ad on the Alumni Association website, http://www.prhsalumni.com. Chair orders may be submitted online.

Also check the website for phone numbers for making phone inquiries or phone orders. The Kijaro Blackhawk Chair is an especially sturdy, quality chair, idealfor outdoor events like ball games, picnics or other gatherings. The Blackhawk chairs are available for $30 each.

The Alumni Association invites the public to become familiar with the PRHS Alumni website, http://www.prhsalumni.

com for information about Alumni Day festivities and about Alumni scholarships awarded to PRHS graduates. Five 2011 graduates will receive Alumni scholarships valued at $500 per semester. The PRHS Alumni are grateful to the many supporters, graduates, former students, administrators, teachers and staff members who havecontributed to the growth of the Alumni Scholarship Program since it’s beginning five years ago.

Alumni Day is designed to coordinate with classes who are planning their own reunions. Often the class members will participate in the all-years reunion during the morning and early afternoon, then share in their own separate class reunion plans in the later afternoon and evening.

PRHS Alumni Association is a non-profit organization under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Donations to the Alumni Scholarship program are fully tax deductible.
