Roe’s art celebrated

— Wanda Roe will be honored on June 11 with Wanda Roe Dayat Poor Richard’s Art. The public is invited to visit with the Pea Ridge artist from 10a.m. - 4 p.m. at the gallery, 116 S. First St., Rogers.

Roe marked her 90th birthday last fall, and continues to be very active inthe northwest Arkansas art scene. She resides in Pea Ridge and teaches classes at her studio there. Being chosen as Art Educator of the Year and receiving a $1,500 travel-study grant are among her personal honors.

Roe was born in Arkansas and has spent most of her life in the Ozarks.

“Working in a variety of mediums and with different subject matter gives her the excitement of creating a different look with each new painting,” she said.
