Pea Ridge Optimist Club

— The Pea Ridge Optimist Club met at 6 p.m. May 19 in the middle school cafeteria. Sandy Lasater, club president, conducted the meeting. Anya Bruhin, middle school art teacher gave a tour of the seventh grade Rain Garden and discussed how well the students enjoy being outside for a class and working in the dirt. The students have already planted 343 plants with about 50 more to go.

Jamie Bunting, along with some of the high school cheerleaders, talked about the involvement of helping with various activities for the community. Such as, decorating the school on game day, making goody bags for going to state, JDR walk for juvenile diabetes and making goody bags and visiting Autumn Place Assisted Living for Christmas, just to name a few.

The next meeting will be 7 a.m. June 2, at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. Come join for a hot breakfast. As always, everyone is invited to attend.
