Jay William Fair

Jay William Fair, 53, of Seligman, Mo., died Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Yellville, Ark. He was born Jan. 8, 1958, to William R. and Chlorine Iva (Wilson) Fair, in Turlock, Calif.

He was a former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, a heavy equipment operator and a framer in new home construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara Hawkins and C’Laine Hollis; and a granddaughter, Alli Letts.

Survivors include his wife, Janice of Seligman, Mo.; two sons, Jason Fields of Seligman, Mo., and Danny Fields of Avoca, Ark.; three daughters, Christy Fields of Rogers, Ark., Lori Letts of Stark City, Mo., and Loretta Howarth of Bull Shoals, Ark.; three brothers, Gordon Pickett of Nevada, Brian Pickett of Florida and Roy Fair of Seligman, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held by the family at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the Seligman Park in Seligman, Mo.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to your local chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse.

Oller Rozella Hobbs McElmurry

Oller Rozella Hobbs McElmurry, 83, of Pea Ridge, died May 18, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born June 8, 1927, in Chelsea, Okla., to Amos and Lettie (Boyd) Hobbs.

She and her husband, Bill, owned Elkhorn Gun and Gift Shop in Pea Ridge. She had also been an associate of Wal-Mart Store No. 1 in Rogers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, hunting and fishing, antiquing, flea markets and garage sales, gardening, reading and music. She was a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) McElmurry; her parents; and sister, Vera Marie Holbrook.

Survivors include four daughters, Janice Jones, of Bella Vista, Linda Stout and husband, Roy, of Harker Heights, Texas, Billye Bone and her husband, Greg, of Bentonville, and Annita Spotts and her husband, Jim, of Garfield; one son, Keith McElmurry and his wife, Cyndi, of McRae; seven grandchildren, Joel Jones of Raymore, Mo., Heath Stout and wife, Shannon, of Rogers, Cody Jones and wife, Traci, of Centerton, Courtney Thompson and husband, Clay, of Fayetteville, Chris McElmurry of McRae, Jeremy Spotts of Garfield and Heather Stout of Oxford, England, United Kingdom; 10 great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Tom Holbrook and wife, Mary Ann, of Flower Mound, Texas.

Graveside services were 2 p,m, Monday, May 23, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Memorials may be made in her name to Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 Gov’t Ave., Fayetteville, Ark.

Ruben W. Pauly

Ruben W. Pauly, 74, of Bella Vista, died Saturday, Jan. 29, at Mercy Medical Center, in Rogers. He was born Dec. 2, 1937, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to John and Ida Pauly.

He supported his family working a variety of jobs during his lifetime, but his life’s passion and artistic talent was woodcarving. He spent much time in the outdoors designing and creating carvings.

He was a member of Lost Bridge Community Church, Garfield, and was baptized there.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jennie; six brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; two sons, Steve Grass of Fargo, N.D., and Robert Pauly of Bella Vista; one daughter, Jacqueline Pauly of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; one brother, Harry Pauly of Pierre, S.D.; two sisters-in-law, Joan Pauly, and Florence Pauly, both of Martin, S.D.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Lost Bridge Community Church located in the Whitney Mountain Chapel, 20650 Oak Ridge Dr., Garfield, with the Rev. Dean Newberry presiding.

Immediately following the service will be a covered dish picnic at the nearby state park overlooking Beaver Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Judson American Baptist Church in Bella Vista.

Dixie Arlene Phillips

Dixie Arlene Phillips, 52, of Gravette, Ark., died Friday, May 27, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark. She was born on Feb. 15, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo., to Jack and Ruby Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her father, and daughter Felicia Taylor.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Lee Phillips of Gravette, Ark.; her mother Ruby Lucas of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; four sons, Lee Colville and his fiancee Alicia of Rogers, Ark.; Russell Spence and wife, Katy of Gravette, Ark.; Jason Phillips of Gateway, Ark., Dallas Adams of Springdale, Ark.; two daughters, Stefanie Eskew and husband, Tony of Lowell, Ark., Jeannie Morgan of Washburn, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hiwasse, Ark., with Cal Stewart officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
