Wildlife moving

I was so glad to see the blue heron raise up out of Carl Safarick’s pond. A blue heron was one of the first things we saw when we moved here 40 years ago. As I drove around the corner, I had to wait for two gray squirrels to get out of the road. Yes, I think they were both consenting adults. Up the road I passed a ground hog, so unusual to see one in day light and yesterday several deer crossed the road in the heat of the day, from a pond on the other side. The heat and drought is telling on all of us.

One day I said, “Ok, for crying out loud!” I was challenged. What does that mean? I don’t know. Something we always say as we prepare to leave home is, “We’re off like a heard of turtles.” I also say, “Raise your right hand and swear to that.” A friend told me she was scared as a child because her dad always hollered, “Good night, don’t let the bed bugs bite.” She didn’t know what a bed bug was. So it leaves me to wonder about a lot of our sayings.

I did finally realize why my eyes were so dry and itchy. It’s because of all of the fans I have going.

It’s been a busy week at Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church.

Bible school was finished up and we had a fifth Sunday luncheon and the outreach committee has a school kit drive started.

The people in Norway were included in our prayer service and I was sorry to hear that Gene Lateer is still in the hospital.

The Rev. Jerry Nichols will bring our message next Sunday while Brian and his family get a chance to spend some time with relatives.
