Counselor arrested for domestic battery

— Counseling students has been her profession for many years, but Pam Forga, Pea Ridge Middle School counselor, found herself on the wrong side of authority when she was booked into the Benton County Jail at 12:32 a.m. Friday by Rogers police for domestic battering in the third degree.

Booked moments later at 12:48 a.m., Michael Tyler Gentry, 25, of Western Grove, Ark., was bookedinto the jail for domestic battering in the third degree. Gentry was reportedly Forga’s boyfriend, according to Rogers police.

Police were called to a residence on North 37th Place for a domestic disturbanceshortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, July 21, and found Forga, 46, and Gentry, both reporting having been abused by the other.

Forga told police that the relationship is abusive and that she had sprayed Gentry with wasp spray in self defense after he grabbed her. She did have a bruise and bump indicative of physical injury, according to the report.

Gentry said the two were in bed when she sprayed him with wasp spray and that he was attempting toleave, according to the police report.

Both Forga and Gentry were arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail for domestic battery third degree, a misdemeanor. Forga was released at 1:39 p.m. Friday, July 22. Gentry, who was initially held on a $1,000 surety bond, was released Sunday, July 24. Both are scheduled for court at 8 a.m. Sept. 12 in Rogers Municipal Court.

Forga is the counselor at Pea Ridge Middle School. She has been employed by the Pea Ridge SchoolDistrict since Feb. 22, 1990.

Interim superintendent Dr. Roland Smith was out of town and unavailable for comment. Middle School principal Sue Terry had no comment.

Just three weeks before (on June 29), Forga and Gentry were arrested by Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Forga was booked for DWI II, driving on a suspended driver’s license, suspended for DWI, speeding, careless and prohibited driving. Gentry was booked for public intoxication.
