Library is a great place to visit

— Even the scorching temperatures we have been experiencing have not kept our readers away from the library. Nor did it keep five youngsters and their parents/grandparents from participating in the Story Hour on Thursday, July 14. Mrs.

Heather Kleber read them a story about super heroes, after which they “decorated” and cut out their masks. A couple of the youngsters were kind enough to put on their masks and pose for a photo. I am so pleased that our numbers are growing.

Thank you, parents and grandparents for bringing the children.

Thank you to everyone who has donated books.

Sometimes when I get the library, I find several bags by the front door. Late Thursday three boxes were brought into the library and I can’t wait to sort through them. I am always delighted when I find editions that can be put on our shelves. The ones we can’t use are being stored until we can have a book sale.

There are so many perks to being the librarian - visiting with our regular patrons, issuing library cards to new patrons, giving directions to the Military Park or Eureka Springs and helping researchers find materials to aid them in their searches.

There is never a dull moment in a day.

I especially enjoy listening in on conversations between patrons as they discuss earlier times in Pea Ridge. What history I am learning.

Planning is going forward on the new building. We are excited and can hardly waitfor completion and move-in but that is still a few months down the road.

Thank you to everyone for being so supportive as I learn a new job. I appreciate your kind words and support. Thank you also to the volunteers for all you do. We are so grateful for your help.

By the time you read this, I will have braved the heat and made a trip to Barnes and Noble and will hopefully have some new titles on the shelves. If you have not been in lately, stop by and browse.
