Wood seeks re-election

— Jenny Wood, current School Board president, said she will seek re-election.

School elections will be Sept. 20. Wood’s seat is up for election.

The Pea Ridge School Board is comprised of five members, each of whom holds office for five years. One position becomes available every year.

Wood said she has received signatures on her petition in preparation for filing. The filing period is from noon Friday, July 15, until noon, Friday, July 22.

The deadline to register to vote in the election is Sept. 13.

Any person desiring to be a candidate must:

◊Be a qualified voter

◊Be a resident of the district and respective electoral zone, if elected from zones

◊File a petition containing at least 20 signatures of qualified registered voters of the district and zone, if elected from zones;

or file a Notice of Write-In Candidacy with the County Clerk

◊Complete and file an Affidavit of Eligibility, in person at the County Clerk’s Office

◊Complete and file a Political Practices Pledge, in person at the County Clerk’s Office

Petitions may be circulated from Wednesday, June 22, until filing date.

Petition letters are available at the County Clerk’s office in Bentonville.
