Five ladies vie for Miss Pea Ridge

— The Miss Pea Ridge contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Contestants will be interviewed by judges at 6 pm. The Tiny Tot contest will be held during intermission while the ladies change into evening wear and the evening gown competition will begin about 7:30 p.m.

All contestants will be seniors at Pea Ridge High School this coming year.

Shantel Morgan, 17, daughter of Shanon and Daryla Morgan, is 5’7”.

Her activities include basketball, track, National Honor Society, Lakeview Baptist Youth Group and football manager. She takes a special interest in playing basketball, spending time with her brother and boyfriend, bonding with her team and watching Army Wives with her mom. In the future, she plansto attend college, hopefully VCA, to become a physical therapist, and eventually start a family. She is sponsored by Shanon and Daryla Morgan.

Morganne Rhine, 17, daughter of John and Katie Rhine, is 5’2 1/2”. She is a member of PRHS Cheer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and New Life Fellowship Youth Group. Morganne enjoys cheering, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with family. She plans to attend college to become a physical therapist and work at St. Jude’s Hospital. She is sponsored by John and Katie Rhine.

Karen Shelton, 17, daughter of Ronald and Elizabeth Shelton, is5’1”. She is vice president of the FBLA and works at Marvin’s. She’s interested in children, animals, photography and various types of design. Her hobbies include reading, writing, rearranging furniture, playing with animals and children, taking pictures, swimming and volleyball. In the future, she plans to go to private school in Georgia to major in interior design with a minor in photography. She plans to attend a community college to get a business degree to run her own studio. She would like to live in the southeast and travel after college, including studying

different architectural styles around the world.

She is sponsored by Ronald and Elizabeth Shelton.

Jordan Winn, 16, is the daughter of Richie and Renee Winn, is 5’ 10”. Her activitiesinclude basketball, softball, National Honor Society, Student Council Senior Class vice president and attends First Baptist Church of Garfield. She enjoys going to the lake, drawing, hanging out with friends, shopping and playing softball. She would like to get a master’s degree in business and become an accountant. She is sponsored by Richie and Renee Winn.

Kayla Wright, 17, is the daughter of James and Stephanie Wright of Rogers, is 5’4 1/2”. She is involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, SEEK, softball, basketball, golf and church youth group.

Hobbies include playing piano, hanging out with friends and family and reading.

She plans to attend college and major in either engineering or education. She is sponsored by Wright Construction.
