Babe Ruth Softball

Babe Ruth softball is being offered for the first time in Pea Ridge this year, according to Roger Martin.

He said sign-ups are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan.

29, in the Pea Ridge Middle School gym on Weston Street. Girls from 4 to 12 years of age are eligible.

The fee is $50 per student. In order to sign up, a birth certificate must be presented.

“We’re doing something unique,” Martin said, explaining that parents will be given 50 tickets for each child who signs up, the tickets are to be sold for $1 each and the parent may keep the money. “That’s like refunding your registration fee,” Martin said. He said that the organization is giving away three $100 Visa gift cards.

Softball sign-ups

Registration for thePea Ridge Youth Softball League will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 at the Pea Ridge Middle School, Weston Street. The league has been sponsoring softball in Pea Ridge for 15 years, according to league president Rick Johnson.

Registration is $40 per girl or $75 for two or more siblings. Games are played in Bentonville and/or Pea Ridge.
