Georgia Azalea Arnold

Georgia Azalea Arnold, 73, of Garfield, died Jan. 10, at her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1937, on Indian Creek Road in Arkansas to Walter Dan Davis and Pansy Mae (Snoderly) Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.

Arnold; her parents; two brothers, Wythe and Zelious Davis; and three sisters, Virginia Morrell, Mary Parker and Eudora Tillman.

Survivors include one brother, Charles Davis and his wife, JoAnn, of Neosho, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Orvis Parker; two sistersin-law, Harriet and Ruth Davis; two sons, Ronnie Arnold and his wife, Katrina, of Pineville, Mo., and Johnny Arnold and his wife, Kathy, of Bentonville; one daughter, DeLinda Huftord and her husband, Vince, of Garfield; 11 grandchildren, Annie, Ronnie, Levi, Richard, LaTasha, Zacc, Jenessa, Maliah, Kaisha, Wyatt and Ricky; and seven greatgrandchildren, Kolby, Terra, Cassie, Lauren, Jacob, Natalie and Peyton.

Visitation was Jan. 13 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Funeral services were Jan. 14 at the Eastside Assembly of God Church with pastor Robert Ward officiating.

Tharrell Danford

Tharrell Dean Danford, 69, of Lowell, died Jan. 15, 2011. He was born on Nov.

13, 1941, in Lowell, to Warren Danford and Mae Robbins Danford.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family gathered around for some good food, good sports and good times. He was a machinist with Kennametal for 38 years and was a lifelong resident of Benton County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Danford and Mae Robbins Danford.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Danford of the home; daughters, Deborah Davis of Booneville, Ark., Dana Chasteen and her husband, Randall, of Garfield, Ark., Deana Sanders of Bella Vista, Ark., and Denise Mahmens of Lowell, Ark.; his brother and sisterin-law, Darrell and Judy Danford of Whittier, Calif.;

his nephew, Daniel Danford of Whittier, Calif.; his greatniece and great-nephew, Blake and Bailey Danford of Whittier, Calif.;

grandchildren: Jimmy Davis, Greg Davis, Erica Sanders, Cameron Ott and Elizabeth Mahmens; and his greatgrandchildren: Clayton Davis, Kaitlin Davis, Aubree Sanders and Lillian Davis.

Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

Mary Ellen Fields

Mary Ellen Fields, 74, of Pea Ridge, died Jan. 10, in Bella Vista. She was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Dalhart, Texas, to Frank and Clara Blanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Fields; one son, Mark K.

Fields and two brothers, Frank and Phil.

Survivors include five sons, Paul W. Fields of Siloam Springs, Mike Fields of Avoca, Michael Fields of Avoca, Jeft Fields of Centerton and Steven Fields of Avoca,; two daughters, Connie Brewer and Paula Broughton of Pea Ridge;

three sisters, Patricia, Florence and Susie, all of California; 17 grandchildren;

and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Jan. 13 at Rollins Funeral Home with brother Jerry Self officiating.

Funeral service was Jan.

14 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment was in Tucks Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

James A. Frost

James A. Frost, 63, of Gateway, died Jan. 12, 2011, in Gateway. He was born July 26, 1947, in Magazine, Ark., to Eston and Mae Fern Frost.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Magazine. He was retired from Harris Baking Company in Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home;

three sons, Delbert and his wife, Nancy, Doug and his wife, Tina, and Duane, all of Manford, Okla.; one daughter, Lora of Seligman, Mo.; five grandchildren;

and three sisters, Dorothy Murray and her husband, J.T., of Booneville, Ark., Edith Barber and her husband, John, of Gateway, Ark., and Hannah Lockhart and her husband, Darel, of Springdale, Ark.

A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at Rollins Funeral Home.

Funeral service were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with L.C. Barnett officiating.

Interment was in the Seligman Cemetery in Seligman, Mo.

Pallbearers were Donnie Hays, Bobby Evans, Jeff Cram, James Weiser,Nathan Galyen and John Raines. Honorary pallbearers are Otis Moring, Danny Puryear, Bill Forgery and the Harris Baking truck drivers.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Irene May Lynch

Irene May Lynch, 95, of Bentonville, died Saturday, Jan. 15, at Bradford House Care Center in Bentonville. She was born Sept. 16, 1915, at Brightwater, to Samuel Buchanan Hays and Julie Ann Birks Hays.

She was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Harold Clark; her second husband, Wilmer Lynch; one son, Bobby Gene Lynch; two brothers, Charles Hays and Ed Hays;

and two sisters, Minnie Foster and Emma Elington.

Survivors include a son, Billy Ray Clark Sr. and his wife, Kathy, of Garfield; six grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Liberty Cemetery in Garfield.

Gegatie Mather

Gegatie “Dale” Mather, 51, died on Jan. 13, 2011. He was born June 5, 1959, in Springdale, Ark., to Paul D.

and Ellen Mather.

He was a native of Bentonville, Ark. He also lived in Justin, Texas, and Las Vegas, Nev., for a while.

He had two sisters, Tandee Michelle and Jan Ellen. In his high school years, he played basketball for the Bentonville Tigers.

He wore No. 22; he also set several high school records including pole vault and track. He graduated in 1977.

He enjoyed sports. He was a die-hard Razorback fan - he never missed a game for football or basketball.

He was a songwriter, writing hundreds of songs.

He was also a self-taught musician and loved his guitar.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Tandee Michelle Mather; and grandparents: Mae Branscum, Earl Branscum, Florence Mather and Oval Mather.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Ellen Mather of Pea Ridge and Mountain View, Ark.; his sister, Jan Mather Hutsonand her husband, Dale, and their children, Keiffer Cole Hutson and Bailee Cecilia Nicole Hutson, all of the home, Pea Ridge, Ark.; his only daughter, Tandel Jo Mather Griesenauer and her husband, Sean Griesenauer, and his grandson, Maddox Christian James Griesenauer, all of Harrison, Ark.; his former wife and close friend, Shelly Ann Mather; and two stepdaughters, Fawn Jensen and her husband, Jeremy Jensen, and their son, Layne, all of Bella Vista, Ark., Addie Bockholt and her children, Jakx, Alivia, Lilian Mae, of Gravette, Ark.

Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark.

Services were at 11 a.m.

Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Rollins Funeral Home with brother Mike McEuen officiating.

Interment followed in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to either the Bethel Baptist Church Food Pantry or the Restoration Village in Rogers.

Margarette B. Nodine

Margarette B. Nodine, 88, of Seneca, Mo., died Jan. 10, in Neosho, Mo. She was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Garfield, to Melvin Jackson and Lillie Catherine Blanset Broam.

She was united in marriage to Ray Cargile in 1941.

To this union three children were born, a daughter, Jo Ann Davis of Neosho, two sons, Jim Cargile of Wyandotte, Okla., and Bob Cargile of Diamond, Mo.

After her first husband’s death in 1952, she married Arnold Nodine in 1954. To that union, one daughter was born, Shirley Bevis of Denton, Texas.

Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were held Jan. 13 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Joseph Oswalt officiating.

Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery at Garfield.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Joe Ray Tipton

Joe Ray Tipton, 73, of Springdale, died Jan. 10, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born May 6, 1937, at Jerome, Idaho, to Joe Tipton and Daisy Lorene Bean Tipton.

He was employed by thestate of Arkansas for 11 years as a state inspector of elevators and was also an elevator mechanic.

He was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Ardis Tipton of the home; one daughter, Teresa Upshaw and her husband Richard of Springfield, Mo.; one son, Gregory Tipton of Springdale; one brother, Danny Tipton of Little Rock; two grandchildren;

and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Jan. 13 at West Side Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with brothers Anthony Lane and Leon Hodge officiating.

Burial was at Snow Cemetery in Berryville, Ark.

Melva Jo Vantine

Melva Jo Vantine, 89, of Rogers, died Jan. 10, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born in Quanah, Texas, on Oct.

4, 1921, to Joe and Doyle (Leonard) Tidwell.

She taught Sunday school for 45 years, most recently at Southside Church of Christ in Rogers.

She was secretary at Lowell Elementary School for 11 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack King Vantine, who died in 2009;

sons, Konrad Vantine and Joey Vantine; brother, Norman Tidwell; and a grandson, Todd Wolfe.

Survivors include sons, Rocky Vantine and his wife, Cathy, of Rogers, Bruce Vantine and his wife, Julie, of Luisburg, Kan.; a daughter, Kay Roller and her husband, Darrell, of Pea Ridge;

a brother, Nolan Tidwell of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren Jennifer Little, Amy Wolfe, Joey Denise Gall, Greg Miller Vantine, Scott Vantine, James Vantine, Katee Jo Vantine and Ethan Roller; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Jan. 12 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.

Funeral services were held Jan. 13 at Southside Church of Christ and officiated by Jackie Chesnutt.

Burial was in Benton County Memorial Park.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams, 43, of Bentonville, died Jan. 16, 2011, in Bentonville.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan.

22, 2011, at the Bella Vista Church of Christ.

Gloria Sue Workman

Gloria Sue Workman, 49, of Rogers, died Jan. 7, at her home. She was born Feb.

3, 1961, at Wichita, Kan., to Harold Lucas and Billie Sue Scott.

She worked at EmersonElectric and graduated from Gentry High School. She attended Day Star Church of God in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Sue Escue, and a brother, Kenny Lucas.

Survivors include her father, Harold Lucas of Dodge City, Kan.; her step-father, John Escue of Pea Ridge;

two sons, Marc Shaffer of Bella Vista and Jamie Shaffer of Lamar, Ark.;

three daughters, Shawnda Workman of Lamar, Ark., Donda and Julie Workman of Arkansas; a sister, Sandy Fletcher of Pea Ridge; a step-sister, Laurie Schaffer of Dodge City, Kan.; two step-brothers, Dave Lucas of Argyle, Texas, and Mike Lucas of New Boston, Mich.; and one grandchild.

Services were Jan. 14 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with pastor Lowell Sartain officiating.

Burial was at Highfill Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
