THE TIMES LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Believe in God and evolution

To the editor:

I’d like to comment on Mark Moore’s, “Government Propaganda Not Convincing” column that appeared in the Pea Ridge Times last week. First, I believe very little of what the government tells me and, on this point, I can agree with Mr. Moore.

On the issue of what he calls “macroevolution,” and that this is government propaganda, I disagree. Evolution - whether you want to call it macroevolution or not - is a scientific fact, and there is no reason why it cannot peacefully coexist with the concept of divine intervention. Who is to say that God didn’t plan for the evolution of all living things through the process we call evolution?

I, for one, have no problem believing in both God and evolution. To me, they are not mutually exclusive.
