In Recollections in the Dec. 22 edition of The Times, a letter to Santa written by second-grade student Vernon Leach was published as being from 10 years ago. Although it was published in The Times Dec. 20, 2000, it was a reprint from Dec. 22, 1988. The Times apologizes for the error.
