ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

— Special events are planned at the Pea Ridge National Military Park to commemorate the 149th anniversary of the Battle of Pea Ridge. The events will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the park and include: Leetown Battlefield

Artillery Demonstration: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. Demonstration provided by Northwest Arkansas Historical Education Association.

3rd Louisiana Infantry will be camped at Leetown. They will present programs through the day.

Elkhorn Tavern

Wreath laying ceremony: 9 a.m. at the monuments.

24th Missouri (Union) Infantry will be camped at Elkhorn Tavern. They will provide small arms demonstrations at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The 15th Northwest Arkansas Infantry will camp at Fosters Farm, then march to the Elkhorn Tavern to do small arms demonstrations and drill at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Missouri State Guard will provide talks and short walking tours at the Elkhorn Tavern for visitors through the day.
