GARFIELD — Alderman and Justice of the Peace Dale King of Garfield has resigned his City Council position.

Garfield city attorney Joanne Mc-Cracken said that King had visited with her and that when King was made aware of the issue, he resigned “immediately.”

King, who has been a member of the Garfield City Council for a number of years, was elected this past fall as Justice of the Peace. He was sworn in on Jan. 1 to the county position and then on Jan. 11, to the city position.
