Cooper honored

— Blackhawk basketball player Kasey Cooper was named to theall-tournament team of the Arvest Hoopfest basketball tournament.

Rogers High School was announced the winner of the Arvest Hoopfest basketball tournament for the third year in a row. Rogers Heritage High School placed second in the tournament and Webb City High School took third. Eight teams - including Pea Ridge High School - participated in this year’s tournament at Rogers Heritage High School.

“This year’s tournament was a huge success.

All the teams provided us with excellent competition in an exciting atmosphere,” Mark Holderbaum, athletic director, Rogers public schools, said. “I’d like to congratulate Rogers on their win and wish all of the teams a successful season ahead.”

Cameron Carroll of Rogers High School was named the tournament’s most valuable player.

The all-tournament team included: Mac Olinger, Rogers Heritage High School; Thomas Moreland, Rogers Heritage High School; Josh Anderson, Rogers High School; Chris Hughes, Hot Springs High School;

Christopher Aings, Hot Springs Lakeside High School; Kasey Cooper, Pea Ridge High School;

Travis Morris, Southeast High School; Breckin Williams, Webb City High School; and Hunter Brown, Mount Vernon High School.

Teams participating were Rogers High School, Rogers Heritage High School, Pea Ridge High School, Mt. Vernon High School from Mt.

Vernon, Mo., Southeast High School from Oklahoma City, Okla., Webb City High School from Webb City, Mo., Hot Springs High School and Hot Springs Lakeside High School both from Hot Springs, Ark. This is the fourth consecutive year teams outside of Arkansas have participated.

Presenting sponsors for the tournament are Arvest Bank and Hight-Jackson Associates PA.
