Ridge Rockers Square Dance Club

The Ridge Rockers Square Dance Club held their annual fun-filled Christmas Dinner Dance on Dec. 9 at the Pea Ridge High School. There were 73 folks in attendance who enjoyed a wonderful pot-luck dinner and some really fine calling by our own Grant Roth. Graduation ceremonies were held for 13 new square dancers who were welcomed into the club.

Lessons will begin again in September 2012. Times and location will be announced as the time draws nearer.

There will be a New Year’s Eve Square Dance at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, in the Pea Ridge Middle School (behind the High School).

Bring an appetizer to share and dance the year away with the Ridge Rockers and Grant Roth. See you there!

Anyone is welcome to visit the lessons or the dance, free of charge.

There will be a Mexican Fiesta Square Dance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, and a regular dance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2011.

New Meadowbrook EH Club

New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club members met at Autumn Place in Pea Ridge for their annual Christmas Party with the residents on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Both members and residents enjoyed the day.

A program was held first with singing of Christmas carols led by Lee Landauer, reading of “The Night before Christmas” by RoxieGeddie, Selena Williams read “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” and Rheta Van Dorn read “The Older I Get” and “The History of the Twelve Days of Christmas.” The Christmas story from Luke 2 was read by Omar Kauffeld.

A delicious meal was then served, the staff at Autumn Place furnished the turkey and dressing and all the trimmings and the desserts were furnished by members of the club. Gifts of clothing covers, made by members of the club, were given to the residents.
