Wanted: Real leader

To the editor:

When will a real leader and/or statesman step forward to run for president? Then again, who would want the job other than an existing politician? On the Democratic side, we have Obama who has not been an effective president.

In fact, in some areas, he has been a disaster (health care and creating an environment where businesses are willing to expand and create jobs).

On the Republican side, we have Romney - the consummate politician with no platform to set him apart, a tendency to speak in generalities and lean whichever way the political wind is blowing. Bachmann - another politician who would be willing to shut the government down to make a point consequences be damned. Perry - the longest serving governor of Texas (another politician) who might be the strongest contender, but I’m not convinced he’s the best the Republicans can come up with. Palin - a joke. Cain - a savvy businessman but unfortunately no name recognition. I would vote for him if I felt he had a chance of winning. Paul - good ideas but he will never win. It is really sad that a country as greatas ours can’t come up with a really top notch presidential candidate.

Then again, as I stated earlier, what really top notch leader would want this job?
