Incidents reported to the Pea Ridge Police this week include: Monday, Aug. 22

7:25 a.m. A resident on Greer Street reported catching a skunk that appeared to be injured. Police disposed of the injured animal.

7:23 p.m. An alarm at the Intermediate School; no representative was available; the building was secure.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

9:10 a.m. A resident on Richards Street reported a black lab running loose in the neighborhood. Police picked up the dog and took it the Pea Ridge VeterinaryClinic.

Wednesday, 24

12:15 a.m. A resident on Nelson reported that she was walking her dog when another small dog ran out and attacked her dog. Police spoke to the owner of the attacking dog.

2 p.m. A pharmacist at Fred’s Pharmacy reported someone attempting to fill what appeared to be a forged prescription. Police confirmed it was forged. The incident was turned over to Fayetteville police because the doctor’s office from which the prescription came was in Fayetteville.

Thursday, Aug. 25

8:20 a.m. An official at the Middle School reported an unruly student.

Police picked up a 12-year-old male and took him to the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center.

4:04 p.m. A resident on Halleck Lane reported an attempted suicide.

Ambulance personnel were called to the scene.They treated the 26-year-old female, who did not have life-threatening injuries.

5:40 p.m. A two-vehicle accident on South Curtis Avenue and Wade Lane involving Johnathan Kelley, 20, Rogers, and Loyd Fields, 63, Rogers. Kelley was cited for no proof of insurance.

Friday, Aug. 26

12 a.m. Suspicious circumstances involving a resident on North Curtis Avenue reporting that his dogs were barking and he heard something hit the back door of his residence. He told police he heard people arguing outside. Police were unable to locate anyone, although they did find a dent in the metal door.

8:30 a.m. Principal of Pea RidgeMiddle School reported a 13-year-old male student made potentially threatening statements about the principal to a teacher. Police contacted the student’s grandparents and reported the incident to juvenile probation.

10 a.m. Counselor from Pea Ridge Middle School contacted the Department of Human Services in reference to an 11-year-old female possibly being abused at home. Police made contact with the family and after taking statements from the father and the girl, determined the allegations were unfounded.The information was turned over to DHS.

Saturday, Aug. 27

12:40 p.m. A resident on Greer Street reported finding a chain saw in the road in front of his house. Police picked up the saw.

1:09 p.m. A resident on Greer Street reported finding an iguana in his driveway.The reptile was taken into protective custody.

11:18 p.m. Received a report of a disturbance in the street at the intersection of Cherry and Hickory streets.

Police did not find anyone at that intersection, but found Joshua Crowder sitting on the side of the road at Oakley and Vineyard. Crowder, 33, told police he had been at a party nearby and an argument broke out. He was arrested for public intoxication.

Sunday, Aug. 28

3:40 a.m. An 18-year-old male reported he had sex with an 18-yearold female and later learned she had genital warts. He told police he believed it was against the law to have sex with someone without revealing a disease.

Police reported that the prosecutor’s office said only HIV was covered by that law.

11:29 a.m. A resident on Frost Street reported theft of a Nintendo Wii game system from an unlocked vehicle.

Monday, Aug. 29

1:22 a.m. A resident of East Pickens Street reported a physical disturbance.

Police arrested Sheldon Burkett, 21, Pea Ridge, for domestic battery III.

4:45 a.m. Police were approached by a male who reported he picked up a dog from his yard on McCulloch Street.

The dog was taken to the Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

2 a.m. Kevin Matthew Barnett, 43, of Seligman, by Rogers Police for revoke of suspended sentence or probation.

2:54 p.m. Dustin Elliott Williams, 35, of Pea Ridge, by BCSO for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and revoke of suspended sentence or probation.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

12:16 a.m. David Dewayne Howell, 24, of Lowell, by BCSO for failure to appear in Little Flock, contempt in Lowell, fleeing on foot and public intoxication, both in Rogers.

10:31 a.m. Robert Scott Melton, 42, of Gateway, by BCSO for felony possession of firearm by certain persons.

4:52 p.m. James Dewayne Benton Jr .,32, of 12436 Tucks Chapel Rd., by BCSO for felony failure to appear.
