Robert Douglas Baskin

Robert Douglas Baskin, 60, of Cumming, Ga., formally of Pea Ridge, diedAug. 17, at his home.

He was born in Fayetteville, Ark.

Mr.

Baskin was directorof business development, working with American Proteins, Inc. for the past eight years. He relocated to Cumming, Ga., from Hanceville, Ala., seven years ago. He was a member of a Browns Bridge Community Church, and served five years on the board of trustees for The Place. Prior to relocating to Hanceville, he held several roles with Tyson Foods over a 23-year span with the last being director of Tyson Foods Animal Foods Ingredients Group before taking a brief retirement.

He was a former member at First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark., and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, Razorback sports and reading. He also loved sharing from the Bible andteaching his small group.

He was preceded by his mother, Pat Baskin in 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lawson Baskin of Cumming; his father, Bob Baskin of Fayetteville; a son, Jason Baskin and his wife, Jama, of Edmond, Okla.; a daughter, Holly and her husband, Mike Shelton, of Richardson, Texas; a brother, Steve Baskin of Fayetteville;

grandchildren, Reagan and Avery Baskin of Edmond and Ellie, Anna and Mary Caroline Shelton of Richardson.

Visitation was from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at McDonald & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in Browns Bridge Community Church.

A second funeral service will be held at a later date at Cross Church in Springdale with the Rev. Mike Shelton, Bob Smith and Rollie Bevers officiating.

Debra Kay Harvey

GARFIELD - Debra Kay Harvey, 49, of Garfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, atthe Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born in Houston, Mo., on Nov.

25, 1961, to Rosetta Pittman and Carl Miller.

She enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing, camping and hiking. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and especially, her grandson.

She was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Wayne Harvey, and her grandparents, Jack and Wanda West.

Survivors include hermother, Rose Keene and stepfather, Loy Keene of Rogers; a sister, Jerri Falter of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Reahannon Jackson and her husband, Jamie Jackson, of Springdale; a grandson, Jace Jackson of Springdale; and three nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life services will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 19 at the home of Debra Kay Harvey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice (901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762) in honor of Debra Kay Harvey.

William ‘Larry’ Rakes

William “Larry” Rakes, 65, of Garfield, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Circle of Life in Springdale after a courageous, six-month battle with cancer. He wasborn on July 20, 1946, in Bentonville to Joseph Edgar Rakes and Mary Lou Asbury Rakes.

He attended Bentonville High School, Class of 1964.

He served nine years in the National Guard, and served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 1st Class aboard the USS Hepburn. He was a mail carrier for the Rogers Post Office and had just received his 35 Year Service Award from the U.S. Postal Service.

He enjoyed roping, trap shooting, fly-fishing, hunting, and was the World Series White Tail Trophy Champ in 1991.

He attended New Home Church in Bentonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, John David Rakes of Fayetteville; one daughter, Kelli Collins of Fayetteville; two brothers, Richard Rakes and wife, Sue, of Rogers, Robert Rakes and wife, Terri, of Rogers;

one sister, Linda Davis and husband, D.A., of Springdale; one aunt, Betty Turney of Garfield; three grandchildren, Hillary Easley, Cody Collins and Isabel Collins of Fayetteville; three nephews; three nieces; 10 great-nephews; four great-nieces; and several cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Stockdale Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Randy Featherston officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Hart Cemetery in Bentonville. Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
