New books at library

Volunteers needed to help

— Busy, busy, busy describes the library lately.

New and donated books are arriving faster than I can process them. We should have some new Christian fiction books on the shelves by mid-week. General Fiction and Romance books should arrive by week’s end. An anonymous donor left several books and magazines outside the library door this past week.

I was overjoyed to find five Harry Potter books in very good condition. The library copies have been read so much they are quite literally falling apart. These replacements are a wonderful gift. Thank you!

A very nice lady telephoned this past week to ask if we would be interested in a large donation of magazines. Joe Bangs happened to be in the library when she called and he was kind enough to pick up the magazines and deliver them to the library. We have many issues of Food Network magazines, Paula Deen magazines, Taste of Home, Quick Cooking and many more. Thank you to both of these people. So hurry in and take home a few magazines for only $.25 each. Get some good recipes to make when the weather finally cools down.

Work continues at the new location. The cabinets and vanities, trim work, etc.are being removed, cleaned and moved to storage. If you want to lend a hand, call the library at 451-8442.

We can let you know the times people are working and if they are at a point where they need some assistance. We have a couple of volunteers helping out now and their help is appreciated.

Remember the date/ time change for the Story Hour - from 2-3 p.m. each Wednesday. Ms. Heather reads a story, helps the children with a craft and then reads another story. When the program first began the children were so shy and would hardly turn loose of grandma’s/dad’s hand.

Now they run through the front door, give me a hug and head for the children’s room and Ms. Heather.

Life is good at the library!
