Janice Marie Swinney and George L. Parnell were married Aug. 11, 1961, in Southside Baptist Church, Chicago, Ill., by pastor H. Kirchner.

The Parnells, of Pea Ridge, are celebrating 50 years of marriage.

They have two children: Brian and his wife, Lisa, Parnell of Thompson’s Station, Tenn., and Pam and her husband, Ray, Fink of Shawnee, Okla.; four grandchildren: Mark and Andrew Parnell, Spring Hill, Tenn., and Kelly and Collin Fink, Shawnee, Okla.; and one great-grandchild on the way.
