PEA RIDGE — Jack Kelly resigned from City Council Thursday night following a committee of the whole meeting with City Council and Planning Commission members.

Kelly, who was appointed to replace James Dawson, has moved out of the city limits and is no longer eligible.

“I’m going to resign, primarily because I moved out of the city limits,” Kelly said.

According to Mark Hayes with the Arkansas Municipal League, when a council member moves outside the city limits, he or she should resign.

The vacancy is for a seat from Ward 1 which is the area east of Curtis Avenue. Interested persons may submit a resume or letter to City Hall.
