Charles Jennings Adams

Charles Jennings Adams, 85, of Pea Ridge, died Saturday, Aug. 13, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Pea Ridge, to Franklin Tobias Adams and Sarah Kate Lee Adams.

He served in the U.S.

Navy stationed in the Philippines. After being discharged, he was one of six veterans to return to Pea Ridge High School to complete his education and graduated in 1947. He was manager of Farmers Exchange in Bentonville for 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church inPea Ridge. He was a Razorback and St. Louis Cardinal fan.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Curtis Lynn Adams and Jerry Don Adams, his parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Adams of the home; a son, Mike Adams and his wife, Frances, of Bella Vista; two grandsons, Joshua Adams and his wife, Amy, of Ft. Smith;

and Nathan Adams and his wife, Lindsay, of Bella Vista; two great-granddaughters, Sarah Grace Adams of Ft.

Smith; and Sidney Lynn Adams of Bella Vista; and onegreat-grandson, Evan David Adams of Bella Vista.

Visitation was Monday, Aug. 15, at First Baptist Church, in Pea Ridge.

Funeral service was Tuesday Aug. 16, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with pastor Al Fowler officiating.

Burial was at Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Lauren Elizabeth McFall

Lauren Elizabeth McFall died July 23 at her home in Live Oak, Calif. She was born Jan. 12, 1930, to William “Bill” and June Cowan Howland in Rogers.

She graduated from Rogers High School in 1947 and married Donald McFall in 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, her parents and a sister, Betty June Herrington.

Survivors include two sons, Donald McFall Jr. and Jerry Dale McFall; a daughter, Anita Rose Pace; three sisters, Leota Mae Hawes of Kansas City, Mo., and Patricia A. Wagoner and Harriett Sue Weaver, both of Rogerssix grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; .

Interment was in LiveOak, Calif.

Kenneth Glenn Root

Kenneth Glenn Root, 81, of Seligman, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born June 29, 1930, in Oak Grove, Ark.

to Jesse and Velie (Yingst) Root.

He married Vivian Cannon March 17, 1973. They shared 22 years together before her death in 1996. In 1998, he moved to Pea Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian; four brothers, Von, Clarence, Ray and Earnest; and three sisters, Pearl, Frediaand Lesbia.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Root of Springdale and James Root of Pea Ridge; one daughter, Sandy Baker of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Doyle and Lloyd Root, both of Kingston, Ark.; two sisters, Rosie Keller of Berryville and Ina Ross of Rogers;

four grandchildren, Glen, Jamie, Sabrian and Breann; four great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Alaylah, Keely and Aveey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Elkhorn Church in Kingston.
