Jette L. Coleman

Jette L. Coleman, 84, died Aug. 1, at the Bradford House. She was born in Monte Ne on Sept. 2, 1927, to William and Bertha Mae (Peckinpaugh) Autrey.

She was the wife of the late Ora L. Coleman. She was a homemaker and seamstress and owned a home-based tailoring business. She loved to quilt and belonged to a group called Morning Star. She was also very active in the 4-H Club, Care and Share in Gravette and taught Sunday school at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Decatur. She was a member of the church for 50 years.

Survivors include her two sons, Jim Coleman and wife, Mary, of Rogers; Larry Coleman of Huntsville; two daughters, Delores Jones and husband, Bob, of Pea Ridge; Linda Webb and husband, Gerald, of Decatur; sister, Jean Rusk, of Bentonville;

10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday, Aug. 5, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral was Saturday, Aug. 6, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, with pastor David Hollowell officiating and pastorMark Snodgrass reading the obituary.

Her burial followed at the Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn.

Darrell Dwayne Gilbert

Darrell Dwayne Gilbert, 54, of Garfield died Aug.

5 in Bentonville. He was born on July 11, 1957, to Gene Copp and Roberta Gilbert in Bentonville.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Gilbert of Mabelvale, Ark.; his son, Jason Gilbert and his wife, Mandy, of Garfield;

a stepbrother, David Townsend of Bentonville;

five grandchhildren; and an aunt and uncle, J.D. and Annetta McCallister of Gravette.

Amanda Michella Martin

Amanda Michelle Martin, 23, of Pea Ridge, diedSunday, July 31.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1987, in Atlanta, Ga.

She livedmany places in her 23 years, but spent most that in Arkansas, eventually living in Pea Ridge to be closer to her mom, brother and grandparents. She also was her great-grandmother’s caregiver for the last few years, juggling that with being a full-time college student.

She was soft spoken and enjoyed drawing, painting and playing games with family and friends. She shared her father’s love of music and mother’s artistic abilities where she found her niche as art major in college and consistently made honor role. She loved singing and, while very shy, didn’t hesitate to sing Karaoke in front of large crowds.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Gerald Weiser of Pea Ridge and Chap Martin of Bell, Fla.

Survivors include her parents, Debbie Martin of Bentonville and John Martin of Chelsea, Ala.;

her brother, Josh Martin of Bentonville; her grandparents, Jane Weiser of Pea Ridge and Joyce Martin of Bell, Fla.; and great-grandmother, Pauline Foster, of Pea Ridge;

many aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge.

Burial was in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Donnie Leon Powers

Donnie Leon Powers, 54, of Exeter, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 4, at his home. He was born March 28, 1957, in Marshall, Ark., to Robert and Madge (Still) Powers.

On June 30, 2006, he was united in marriage to Vickie Cain in Eureka Springs. He grew up in Arkansas and received his education in Springdale. For several years he traveled throughout the states working as a welder for PDM, Ind., Des Moines, Iowa. His home residence was in the Wheaton area most of his life. He was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church at Rocky Comfort, Mo. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and tinkering in mechanics.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Powers; and one sister, Rosella Powers.

Survivors include his wife, of the home;

two daughters, Susan Dawn Powers-Jackson and husband, Scott, of Rocky Comfort, Mo.;

and Dawniella Powers of McKinney, Texas; three brothers, Robert Powers and wife, Jeannie, of Seligman, Mo., James Powers and Billie Ray Powers both of Sanger, Texas; three sisters, Barbara Zhon of Kennewick, Wash.; Pat Odell of River Oaks, Texas; and Mary Sue Bean of Springdale;

and four grandchildren.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo.

Alfred E. Skaggs

Alfred E. Skaggs, 90, of Rogers, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born July 15, 1921, in Avoca, to Lola Alred and Asa Skaggs.

He served his country during World War II, including three years in the Pacific, where he obtained an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force.

He owned and operated Skaggs Used Furniture in downtown Rogers for many years and was employed with Tucker’s Appliance in Rogers as a salesman for many years.

Skaggs enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was a member of the Lazy Beaver’s Camping Club for several years. He was a lifetime resident of northwest Arkansas and loved woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nadine Skaggs in 1991; and one brother, William “Snowball” Skaggs.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Skaggs of the home; two daughters, Vickie Estes, of Rogers;

Micki Keener and husband, Larry, of Harrison;

one brother, Robert Skaggs, of Rogers; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment will be private at Rogers Cemetery.

A public memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family.
