Frank A. Bailey

Frank A. Bailey, died July 27, at Northwest Medical Center. He was born onOct. 16, 1956, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Loy and Mildred (Ragsdale) Bailey.

Bailey was the disability counselor at Northwest Arkansas Community College. He was a member of the NWA Center for Equality, trained AIDS educator, former regional director for Regional Aids Interfaith Network (RAIN), former youth leader and Sunday school teacher at St. Bartholomew Episcopal church in Fort Smith, Ark., and lifelong liberal Democrat. He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “PJ” (Stubbs) Bailey; a daughter, Amy Bailey of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth and Sandy Bailey of Farmington and Joe and family of Fayetteville; father-in-law, John Stubbs of Centerton; three brothers-in-law, Paul and Bonita Stubbs of Centerton, Todd and Shirl Stubbsof Elmer, N.J., and James Stubbs of Avoca; sister-inlaw Beth and Steve Phillips of Centerton; as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the All Saints Episcopal Church.

A private burial will be at a later date. Services were under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Richard Copp

Richard Copp, 39, of Fayetteville, died July 31, in Bentonville. He was bornDec. 23, 1971, in Rogers, Ark., to Gene and Shirley (Setters) Copp.

Heworked in construction and was a member of New Life Church in Pea Ridge.

Survivors include his mother of Bentonville;

his father of Pea Ridge; a daughter, Danielle Copp of Bentonville; his fiancee, Ronda Stanley of Pea Ridge; seven brothers, Jason Copp, David Townzen, Dewayne Gilbert, Thomas Copp, Tony Copp, Lonnie Copp and Ronnie Copp;

four sisters, Freda Harvey, Jozanna Copp, Suzann Copp and Maria Copp; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at New Life Church in Pea Ridge, with pastor Bonnie Austin officiating.

Services are under the direction of Benton County Funeral Home, downtown Rogers.

Amanda Martin

Amanda Martin, 23, of Pea Ridge, died Sunday,July 3, as a result of an automobile accident.

Arrangements are pending with Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Mildred Irene Mitchell

Mildred Irene Mitchell, 87, of Lanagan, Mo., died July 30, at Freeman Hospital in Neosho. She was born in Rulo, Neb., on Dec. 14, 1923, to the William and Elsie (Graham) Moon.

She was a homemaker and a member of Honey Lake Baptist Church near Lanagan, Mo., where she was active in Sunday school and Bible school.

She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her tomato plants, crocheting and needlework.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Barney Mitchell, whom she married on Feb. 14, 1954, and her second husband, Lawrence Mitchell, whom she married Jan. 7, 1995.

Survivors include her son, Terry Mitchell and wife, Mary Ellen, of Pineville, Mo.; step-children, Phillip Mitchell and Carolyn Natsch of Oklahoma City; Judy Mitchell of Texas; brother, William H. Moon of Belton, Texas;

sister, Betty Shepherd of Bentonville; grandsons Henry Mitchell and wife, Melissa; Wade Mitchell and wife, Amanda; and two great grandsons, Jackson and Oliver.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge officiated by Utah Humphrey.

Interment will follow in Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Star Missions, to benefit Terry and Cathy Wedel, or to the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home.

Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Carolyn Newkirk

Carolyn Newkirk, 46, of Garfield died July 25, in Lawrence, Kan. She was born April 19, 1965, in Manhattan, Kan., to James and Betty Furman.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Newkirk of Gravette; a son, Shawn Newkirk of Gravette; a stepsister, Suzanne Kirk of Garfield; a sister; and her stepmother, Sally Furman of Garfield.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Faith Bible Church, 11881 N. Arkansas 59, Gravette.

Cremation arrangements were by Chapel Oaks Crematory and Funeral Home in Lawrence, Kan.

Howard Rice

Howard Rice, 73, died Sunday, July 24, at his home in Rogers. He was born onNov. 2, 1937, to Levi and Ruth (Walker) Rice in Hindsville, Ark.

On Nov.

6, 1958, he married Girdie Easter in Huntsville, Ark., and they were married for over 52 years before his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Girdie Rice of the home; five sons, Bobby Rice and wife, Laura, Ronnie Rice, Danny Rice and Michael Rice and wife, Jennifer, all of Rogers, and Howard J. Rice and wife, Rachel, of Pea Ridge; two daughters, Catherine Lane and husband, Tim, of Garfield; and Kelly Wallace and husband, Tommy, of Powell, Mo.; one brother, Arlie Rice and wife, Dolores, of Fayetteville; two sisters, Lorene McKenzie and husband, Allen, of Cave Springs; and Ethel Mayes and husband, Daryl, of Hindsville;

20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday, July 27, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 28, at the House of Prayer with Pastor Larry Taylor offciating.

Interment followed at Pratt Cemetery in Garfield.

Ginger Lynn Smith

Ginger Lynn Harville Smith, 37, of Anchorage, Alaska, died July 24, in Anchorage. She was born Sept. 25, 1973, in Odessa, Texas, to William and Janell Bannan Harville.

She was a cashier and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her father of Siloam Springs;

her husband, Trevor Smith of Odessa, Texas; three sons, Cody Smith, MatthewSmith and Braeden Smith, all of Siloam Springs; and a sister, Amanda Wright of Siloam Springs.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Walnut Hill Cemetery, near Garfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Darrell W. Bone

Darrell W. Bone, 54, of Rocky Comfort, Mo. left this world on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was born to Eddie & Vera Bone in Inglewood, California, in 1957.

He moved to Pea Ridge in 1960 with his grandparents, Duly and Beatrice Bone. He graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1975. His fi rst job consisted of 45 minutes with Tyson Chicken Quick. Following that career, he went to work for Battlefi eld Cabinets in Pea Ridge.

He and his brother Rick opened their own automotive business. He then became crew chief for Roger Hines Racing Team. In 1986 he started with Buddy Sparks as shop foreman. In 1990, Kent Rylee purchased Buddy Sparks Chevrolet and Darrell became fi xed operation manager for Kent Rylee Chevrolet. There he won “Mark of Excellence” 10 times. He was on the Advisory Board for General Motors, he received the “Service Excellence Award” and was always in the top 10 percent for service satisfaction in the South Central Region for GM.

In April 2006, he left Kent Rylee Chevrolet to help develop The Pig Trail Harley Davidson Team. From that vacation, in October 2006, he came back to Kent Rylee Chevrolet. In June 2009, he and Kent Rylee purchased the Napa Parts Store which became Kent Rylee Auto Solutions in Rogers. In October 2010, he, Kent and Sean Wells purchased the Bentonville Napa Store.

Darrell enjoyed many hobbies, including farming, racing, motorcycle riding, classic cars, real estate development and people!

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwald and Lorena Niche Sammann, and Duly and Beatrice Bone; and his parents, Vera and Eddie Bone.

Survivors are his longtime companion, Veldia Rideout of the home; one son, Brently Bone; daughters Haley Bone, Kelley Austin and husband Jake of Pea Ridge and Shelby Courtney of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Kamille Robinson of Fayetteville and Noah Austin of Pea Ridge; one brother, Rick Bone of Pea Ridge; a sister Debbra Evans and husband Roger of Seligman, Mo.; one uncle, Johnny Bone and wife Joyce of Pea Ridge; cousins Tony Bone, Johnny Bone, Jr. and wife Kendy of Pea Ridge; nieces, Tony and Jayme Evans; nephew, Chad Collins; extended family, friends, and his dog, Murphy.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Central United Methodist Church, Rogers.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, with pastors Ralph Walker and Carnes Vaughan offi ciating.

Burial was in Buttram Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
