Cribbs racking up points

— Pea Ridge distance runner Kimberly Cribbs has been racking up the points lately as she sparked the Pea Ridge Lady ’Hawks to a fifth place finish at the 12-team Gentry Track and Field Invitational last week.

Cribbs took first place in the 800 (2:48.09), 1,600 (6:18.7), and second in the 3,200 (14:24.0) while anchoring the 4- by 800-meter relay to a third place finish (12:11.02) to account for 29 1/2 points. The senior athlete was joined in the relay by Kaylee Niven, Miranda Patrick and Stephanie Harris.

Lincoln won the girls’ title with 148, followed by Green Forest 112, Gravette 89, Yellville 85, Pea Ridge 69, Gentry 61, PrairieGrove, 29, Decatur 15, West Fork 15 and Eureka Springs 11.

The boys’ Blackhawk team had a tougher time of it, finishing in 12th place with 5 points. Colton Holtgrewe was the only individual scorer for the ’Hawks as he finished seventh in the 3,200-meter run (11:11:11). The other points were scored by the seventh place 4- by 400-meter relay team (Dakota Coan, Killman, Norman and Clayton Roughton), and the eighth place 4- by 100-meter relay team ((Daniel Beard, Scott Fisher, Jonah Torres and Dayton Winn).

Harris placed in two events for the Lady ’Hawks, taking fourth in the 3,200 meters (15:32) and eighth in the 1,600 meters 6:48.8) as did Niven, who was second in the 800 (2:53.0) and eighth in the 400 (1:14.82). Rounding out the scoring individually was

Deborah Beard who was fifth in the 100 (13.71) and Felicia Walker who was sixth in the same event (14.19).

The Lady ’Hawks also scored fifthand sixth-place finishes in the 4- by 100- and 4- by 400-meter relays. The 4- by 100-meter ran it in 59.42 (Beard, Emily Swaza, Walker and Patrick) with the 4- by 400-meter clocking a 5:07.82 (Niven, Bailey Lessenberry, Sweaza and Beard).

Pacing the Blackhawks in the 100 wasBeard who finished 14th (12.22). Other event leaders were Fisher, ninth in the 200 (25.26); Zach Oldebecken, 16th in the 400 (1:07.25); Daniel Baker, ninth in the shot put (36-9); and Rico Schneider, 10th in the discus (97-0).

The final boys’ team scores were Yellville 105, Gentry 102, Gravette 90, West Fork 78, Farmington 77, Prairie Grove 60, Green Forest 51, Berryville 28, Eureka Springs 27, Lincoln 27, Decatur 10 and Pea Ridge 5.
