GARFIELD — Maud Houseworth Sanders
Maud Houseworth Sanders, 85, died March 25, 2011, in Kansas City, Mo. She was born June 13, 1925, in Caddo County, Okla., to Harry Houseworth and Edna BessEnglish.
She attended and graduated from Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Oklahoma City, Okla. While traveling to and from clinicals she met her husband of 59 years, Jeff Seay Sanders. Hewas the bus driver. They spent their lives living in Oklahoma City, Shawnee Mission, Kan., Manchester, Mo., Encino, Calif., and retired at Beaver Lake, Garfield, Ark.
Both Maud and husband Jeff were active with Gideons International. She also worked as a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff;
her parents, Harry and Bess Houseworth; and sisters, Virginia Jones, Lulu Mae Prout and Nell Kochanski.
Survivors include her brother, William Harry Houseworth and wife, Marjorie, of Irving, Texas, and Garfield; her children, Susanne Hill and husband, Pete, of Kansas City, Mo.;
Jeff Seay Sanders Jr., Rogers; Benjamin Sanders and wife, Kay, of College Station, Texas; Rosemary Bosma and husband, Larry, of Leona Vally, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday, April 1, 2011, at Whitney Mountain Chapel.
Burial was at Reddick Cemetery, under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.
