Bless a Family provides food

Loaves ’n Fishes’ Food Pantry Project “Bless A Family” formed an alliance with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank “Lift Up America” in conjunction with Tyson Foods donating 30,000 pounds of protein to local area food pantries.

Tyson Foods chairman, John Tyson joined University of Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long; Dave Hannah, founder of Lift Up America; and Marge Wolf E.D., of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, in kicking off the event.

Loaves ’n Fishes’ Food Pantry, a ministry of New Life Church, received 750 pounds of protein and through another donation of an additional 750 pounds, were able to assist 114 families in the Pea Ridge community to put protein on their plate.

New Life Church members believe that everyone in the community should be able to meet their basic needs, such as food. In this day and time of economic struggles, those families that need a little assistance are not only the families who may have suffered a job loss, single parent families, etc., but also families where both parents are in the workforce and there is just “more week than money.”

Loaves ’n Fishes’ Food Pantry is located at New Life Church, 836 N. Curtis Ave. (across from Collier Drug) and is open from 9-11 a.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month.
