22nd annual Mule Jump

The 22nd annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct.

9, on the grounds west of Pea Ridge High School.

Events include halter class, children’s stick mule event, barrel and flag races, pole bending, hog calling and the mule jumping competition.

Vendor booth spaces and sponsorship for various events are still available.

Garfield Elementary Fall Carnival

GARFIELD - The fall carnival will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct.

23, in the gym. There will be games, bingo and a cake walk, plus face painting, food and drink and a raffle with great prizes. Admission is $5 for all games, except split the pot bingo, cake walk and the Country Store. For more information, call the school at 359-3263.

Women’s self-defense class

BENTONVILLE - The Bentonville Police Department will host a 12-hour women’s self-defense class, from 6 to 10 p.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 4 and continuing Oct.

5 and 7. The class will be held at the Bentonville Police Department. The class will be physically demanding, dress for constant activity. There is no cost to attend the class.

Community dance slated

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The Seligman community dance will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Seligman community building. The band will be Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs. Admission is $4 for adults. Snacks are optional. No smoking or alcohol allowed.

All proceeds go to the Seligman Lions Club, the Lions buy glasses for the needy, also help with hearing and accepts donations of used glasses , cell phones and hearing aids. The Seligman Lions Club is seeking new members. For more information, call 1-417- 271-1097, 846-5355 or 662-3717.

Train ride to Van Buren

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The Seligman to Van Buren train ride will be Saturday, Oct. 9. Ride to beautiful Van Buren and enjoy the Arts and Crafts days. The train will leave Seligman at 7 a.m. and arrive in Van Buren approximately 11 a.m.
