New officer not new to law

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

— For Clela Eggebrecht, the newest police officer in town, law enforcement is a family affair.

She, her husband and her son are all police officers.

Eggebrecht, 47, a native of Colorado, has been in law enforcement for 12 years and previously worked for Benton County Central Communications, for Centerton Police and for Gravette Police. Her husband works for Decatur Police Department and her son works for Centerton Police Department.

“She’s a wonderful new addition to the department,” Police Chief Tim Ledbetter said.

Eggebrecht graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy in 2002 and is certified in crime scene investigation and arson investigation.

She worked in the mental health case load area of the Colorado state parole division. She is certified as a firefighter 1 and was certified as an emergency medical technician, but has not re-certified.
