Velma Leona Arnold

Velma Leona Arnold, 85, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Legacy Village in Bentonville. She was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Llano, Texas, to Robert Elry Brewer and Lila C. Hennesay Brewer. She was a home health caregiver in northwest Ar kansas for many years. She loved spending time with her family, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Franklin Arnold, on Aug. 8, 1965; her parents; and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Larry Arnold and his wife, Kyla, of Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter, Dana Stanley, and her husband, James, of Bentonville, Ark.; two brothers, Mack Brewer of Rogers, Ark., and Neubern Brewer and his wife, Betty, of Avoca, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Terry of Granbury, Texas, and Marie Anderson of Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers with Randall Caselman officiating.

Memorials may be made in honor of Velma Arnold to Circle of Life, 901 Jones Rd., Springdale, AR 72762.

Chris J. Berry

Chris J. Berry, 64, of Bella Vista, died Thursday, Sept.

16, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born July 9, 1946, in Winfield, Kan., to Roy and Doris Wartick Berry.

He played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and continued to play through his high school years. He played the piano and was the accompanist at all the high school functions. He received a bachelor of science in Education from KSTC in Emporia, Kan., in 1968.

He married Martha Claypool July 20, 1968, at Howard, Kan., and they made their first home in Great Bend, Kan., where he taught school. He also taught in the Salina, Kan., school system before moving to Denver, Colo., where he worked as an underwriter for Farmers Insurance. In 1975 they moved to Allenspark, Colo., where he was entrepreneur in several business ventures. He came to northwest Arkansas in 1984 and retired from FM Corp. in 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marty Berry; a daughter, Sarah Pace and her husband, Tony, of Lexington, Ken.;

a son, Jonathan Berry and his wife, DeLise, of Bella Vista; two brothers, Roy Berry and Randy Berry both of Topeka, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Tanner Pace, Maddox Pace and Gillian Berry.

A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20,at Mildred B. Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista.

A reception followed at First United Methodist Church, Becker Hall, Bella Vista.

Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

Tommie E. Gibson

Tommie E. Gibson, 68, of Garfield died Sept. 12, in Bentonville. He was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Neosho, Mo., to Thomas and Virgie Frazier Gibson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gibson.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta (Olson) Gibson of the home; three sons, Robert Ferris of Gateway, Aaron Gibson of Branson, Mo., and Jeff Ferrisof Bella Vista; a daughter, Roxanne Walker of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Bob Gibson and Larry Gibson; a sister, Helen Koch, all of California; and nine grandchildren.

A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Benton County Funeral Home.

Services were at 11 a.m.

Friday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home, with pastor John Ledenham officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart and Lung Association.

Brandi Russell

Brandi Russell, 42, of Springdale, died Saturday, Sept. 18. She was born July 4, 1968, in Little Rock, to Alvin Morris and Linda Jean White.

Russell worked as a senior category planning manager for Sara Lee.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a niece, Rachael White.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Wes Russell of the home; her father, Alvin Morris White of Springdale; two brothers, Dustin White and his wife, Karla, of Rogers, and Deke White and his wife, Carrie, of Pea Ridge; four nieces and nephews, Colton Clark, Mallory White, Mason and Landon White; an aunt, Brenda Craig of Springdale; and a host of family and close friends.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept.

20, at Fellowship Bible Church, Training Center in Rogers.

Graveside service were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Bentonville City Cemetery with pastor John Marquette officiating.
