Granny’s Quilts of Love

Granny’s Quilts of Love met at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. There were 23 members in attendance, along with two guests: Cathy Cramer and Cathy Fletcher.

Donna Beaver opened the meeting in prayer and Marge Crowder conducted the meeting.

Final preparations were made for the dinner and auction held Saturday, Aug. 28, at the high school.

The dinner and auction was a huge success. The members worked very hard and many long hours to make it successful. A big thank you to all the grannies, along with several husbands who helped. Thank you to the youth group from the Free Will Baptist Church in Pea Ridge for helping with cleaning up the tables, they did an outstanding job. Over 379 dinners were served. Jerry Fitzner, the auctioneer, and his help did a great job with the auction.

Thanks to Trish Fitzner and Judy Frost for putting together over 150 beautiful baskets.

Again, these girls put in many hours to do this. A special thanks goes out to Alice Henson and Donna Beaver for going out to get all the items to auction, along with Marge Crowder and Mary Margaret Webb as well.

Several ladies celebrated a birthday in August.

Elda Wenzel advised the Christmas party will be Dec. 21 in Bella Vista.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. For more information, contact Mary Margaret Webb at 451-8640 of Pat Patterson at 451-1500.
