Mule Jump draws thousands of visitors to town

— The 22nd annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump to be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at Pea Ridge High School, Mayor Jackie Crabtree announced.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. at the school. A full day of events will follow, including halter class, children’s stick mule event, barrel and flag races, pole bending, hog calling and the mule jumping competition.

The jump has drawn contestants from a four-state area.

“Some events are destined to become a ‘don’t miss community opportunity.’ We are honored to say that the 22nd annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump scheduled has become just that for many,” said Mule Jump committee chair, Nathan See. “The Mule Jump brings in three to four thousand people - we are known for being theMule Jump Capital of the World!”

Vendor booth spaces and sponsorship for various events are still available. Sponsors will be recognized in all publicity for the event. Sponsors to-date include NWA Media, KIX104, The Star Shopper, Bright Design Graphics and The Big Nickel.
