Red Ribbon Week

This week is Red Ribbon Week. The slogan this year is “A Drug Free Life Rocks.”

Wednesday’s theme is “shade out drugs,” wear your sunglasses;

Thursday’s theme is “a drug free life rocks,” dress as a favorite rock star; and '

Friday wear school colors for “Blackhawks are drug free day.”

Deputy Doug Gay from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office will be here on Thursday, Oct. 28, to conduct a methamphetamine awareness presentation. Parents are invited to attend.

The schedule is sixth-grade at 8:15 a.m., eighth-grade at 9:05 a.m. and seventh-grade at 9:45 a.m.

Middle School news

The Coffee House literacy night will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26 in the middle school cafeteria. The PTO will be selling spirit tattoos in the morning on Thursday, Oct. 28 for $.50.

The next PTO meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the middle school cafeteria.

Halloween dance

A Halloween Dance for seventh- and eight-graders will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, sponsored by the Pea Ridge Future Business Leaders of America.

Students should wear costumes (school appropriate). There will be food available for purchase.

Admission at the door is $3 in costume, $5 in street clothes. There will be a photographer available and a costume contest.
