’Til Next Time | How is it a bad day only gets worse?

Does everyone have a bad day now and then?

Why is it that some days can go so wrong?

On the way out to the highway, I pulled over to let an oncoming car drive through a tight spot. He gave me an obscene gesture with a finger as he passed.

I didn’t even know him! He must have been having a really bad day!

While in town, I picked up an item that wasn’t priced and ended up paying over double what it was worth. Rather than embarrassing myself, I paid for it.

Then I found out about a friend getting her feelings hurt. She kept denying thatit mattered, but I know her well enough to recognize the head and hand movements that it was hurtful. If she hurts, I hurt.

After back-tracking in a hurry, I came up on a stop light, glanced up, I had a green light so I went. A car coming toward me honking made me realize it was the kind of light that I needed an arrow or clear right-of-way. I decided right then that thingsprobably weren’t going to improve. I could keep on being distracted and making boo-boos or I could go home and hibernate for the day. I drove to a downtown drive-in and ordered a big, fat, double cheeseburger.

I hadn’t done that all summer and they would soon close for the season. My spirits were so low, that I sure wasn’t thinking about clogged arteries. It was delicious! The next day went by without a hitch. I wouldn’t recommend this treatment for anyone else but it worked for me!

Parent-teacher conferences are over. Do you remember those fingernailson the blackboard feelings?

I wonder if it’s worse for the teachers.

The church women are getting rested up from the bazaar and now are ready to jump into the trunkor-treat and chili cook-off from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.

They are also circulating a membership survey and collecting for a food pantry.

Busy, busy, busy!
