Library Notes | No tricks, just treats at the Pea Ridge Library

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

— Just a quick note from your community library: The library will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, to all trick-or-treaters. Bring all your little goblins by to get a treat bag from the library. (Parents: I promise, very little candy but lots of goodies.)

The library is currently concentrating on getting the Children’s Room in top shape. We have many new books, including 12 new Magic Tree House novels, “Scary Scary Night” (picture puzzles to search and solve), “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” - “Rodrick Rules,” “Dog Days” and “The Last Straw,” “The Atlantis Complex” by Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl) and many easy reader books for kindergartners through second grade.

For adults, we have “Obama’s Wars” by Bob Woodward, “Warlord” by Ted Bell, “Fatal Error”- a Repairman Jack novel by F. Paul Wilson, “The Brave” by Nicholas Evans, “Lydia’s Charm” by Wanda E. Brunstetter and “Within My Heart” by Tamera Alexander.

These are just a few of the current books we have here. Remember, this is your library, fully funded by the city of Pea Ridge. We may be a small library, with only one copy of each book, but in today’s economy, it pays to “check” us out! We do our best to provide you with books you will enjoy and if you have a special request, we can usually have it within a few weeks.

Hope to see you soon!

Library phone is 451-8442.

Library hours are 4 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday, closed for lunch so this granny can have her fix and see her grandchild (soon to be three of them!)◊◊◊

Editor’s note: Linda Whitaker is the librarian of the Pea Ridge Community Library. She can be reached at P.O. Box 9, Pea Ridge, AR 72751 or [email protected].
