COURT UPHOLDS CAPITAL MURDER CONVICTION

— The Arkansas Supreme Court unanimously upheld the death sentence Thursday after rejecting Rogers resident Brandon Eugene Lacy’s arguments of a lack of evidence to justify hisconviction on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges in the fatal stabbing of Garfield resident Randy Walker.

Lacy was convicted of killing Walker with a fireplace poker and setting his home on fire in August 2007.

Lacy’s co-defendant, Broderick Lloyd Laswell, is scheduled for trial Jan. 18.
