David White

Position sought: Gateway mayor

Age: 64

Employment: Retired from Kennametal

Education: High school

Residency: Gateway, 18 years

Family: Wife, Teri, one son, one daughter, three grandchildren.

Military experience: U.S.

Navy E-3, honorably discharged in 1969.

Political experience: Alderman for the town of Gateway for two years

What do you think will be the biggest challenge for the city during your term, and how will you address it? I have talked with quite a few of the residents of our town and heard a number of concerns and complaints. It is my hope to involve the people of Gateway, listening to what they have to say and letting their collective voice guide the decisions that the town council makes. Trying to get people involved is not an easy task but I will give it my all. The town belongs to all of us and we need to work together to keep it that way.

Why do you think you’re the best person for the position? Our current mayor has been in office uncontested as long as I have been here. I think it is time for someone new to hold the office of mayor.
