Lions Club plans October Fundraiser

The Lions Club of Pea Ridge will offer servings of three varieties of hot soups prior to the Pea Ridge Blackhawks’ Homecoming Game beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.

The Lions will have a tent set up on the church parking lot across Davis Street from the Blackhawk Football Stadium on Friday night. Fans and others who stop by will be able to choose a generous serving of either hot chili, gumbo or chicken cheese soup for $3 per serving. The soups will be served with crackers and other trimmings. Sit down and eat or carry it with you. The Lions invite everyone to come out and enjoy a cool weather supper before taking in the big homecoming events for the Pea Ridge Blackhawks.

Lions Club fundraisers enable the Lions to providea variety of services in the community, with a special emphasis on sight conservation, assistance with eye exams and eyeglasses, diabetes screening and more.

Pea Ridge Lions Club was organized in May 2010. The club meets twice monthly at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays at the United Methodist Fellowship Hall at 1209 N. Davis St. Inquiries may be directed to Lion president Jerry Nichols. E-mail Nichols at [email protected], or call 621-1621.
