Norman D. Abrams

Norman D. Abrams, 76, of Rogers, died Oct. 5, 2010, in his home, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was born July 6, 1934, in Humphreys, Mo., to Arvel Abrams and Marie Cutsinger Abrams.

Mr. Abrams was retired and served in the United States Air Force and was a Presbyterian.

He served on the Pea Ridge City Council in the 1990s.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Abrams; and his sister, Kathryn Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Abrams, of the home; three daughters, Marlynn Abrams of Plantation, Fla., Susan Youngblut of Lena, Ill., and Sally Dahl of Mehomet, Ill.; a brother, William Abrams of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren;

and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at the Abrams’ home, located at 2712 Aspen Lane, Rogers.

A memorial service and interment will be at a laterdate in Yorkville, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Circle of Life Hospice; or, the University of Kansas, Movement Disorder Program, Neurology Dept., c/o Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th Street, Rogers, AR 72756.

Dorothy Jaspersohn Knabenschuh

Dot Knabenschuh, 81, died Friday, Oct. 8, at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville after years of battling illness. She was born Nov.

27, 1928, in Branford, Conn., to Carl Johannes Ingward Jesperson/Jaspersohn and Kirstine Dorthea Cathrine Andersen Jaspersohn.

She lived in the territory of Alaska, the Federal Republic of Germany and various states on the West and East coasts of the U.S.

Within days of her death,she was visited in the hospital by her brother, a niece, her husband, sons, daughter, grandson and two granddaughters. She will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John L. Knabenschuh of the home in Garfield; one of nine siblings, her brother, Ellsworth Jaspersohn of North Branford; two sons, Eric and his wife, Lani, and Bruce and his wife, Patricia, all of Elizabeth, Penn.; a daughter, Karen Saunders and her husband, Richard, of Garfield; three grandsons, Jon Erik Knabenschuh and his wife, Amber, of Orem, Utah, and Richard and Michael Saunders of Mandeville, La.; two granddaughters, Beth Liedl and her husband, Timothy, and Emily Rae Knabenschuh, all of Elizabeth; three greatgrandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation services are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorial donations may be made on behalf of Dorothy “Dot” Knabenschuh to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Fund.

Etta Scott

Etta Louise Scott, 76, of Garfield, died Friday, Oct. 8, at her home. She wasborn Oct. 12, 1933, in Rogers, to Ralph Lee Stover and Lydia Catherine Cannady Stover.

She wasa life long resident of this area graduating from Rogers High School.

She married James Darrell Scott, May 9, 1953, and was a nurse’s aide for 15 years. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Sydney Scott, and three brothers, Irman Stover, Harold Stover and Michael Joe Stover.

Survivors include herhusband of 57 years, James Darrell Scott of the home;

three sons, Darrell Glen Scott and his wife, Jannette, of Garfield, Billy Scott and his wife, Becky, of Bentonville, and John Lee Scott of Rogers; one daughter, Belinda Mason of Garfield; a son-in-law, Jeff Mason of Garfield; one brother, Steve Stover of Florida; two sisters, Rosa Wise and Judy Jones both of Rogers; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at New Prospect Baptist Church with pastor Ron Shults officiating.

Burial will be at Scott Cemetery near Gateway.

Visitation is set for Tuesday, October 12, 5-7:00p.m.

at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Bank of Seligman, c/o James Scott.

Maxine Schultz

Maxine Schultz, 90, of Garfield, died Sept. 30 inSpringdale. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Lima, Ohio, to Howard P. and Blanche B. Kepner Evans.

She worked at WGN Television in Chicago, Ill., where she was an executive secretary. She moved to retire at Beaver Lake, where she lived at Lost Bridge Village. She was a member of the Church at Pinnacle Hills.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon, and her husband, James Mack, of Garfield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine great-greatgrandchildren.

A visitation was held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Rollins Funeral Home.

Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Friday at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Bob Ryan officiating the service.

Interment was in the Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.

Services were under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Church at Pinnacle Hills Missionary Fund.
