Cornerstone Pharmacy brings back tradition of service

— Cornerstone Pharmacy is a family-owned business with Jim and Lorri Graham working side-by-side. Sons Ryan and Nick also help out.

“We bring back traditional pharmacy service that is so hard to find today,” says Jim Graham. Cornerstone spends time with customers and helps them find the medications that they need which will work best with the fewest side affects and at the lowest cost.

“We truly serve our customers/patients,” said Graham. “We take care of them, quickly and professionally.” Cornerstone even offers freshly baked cookies daily. Pick up next-day special order items at no extra charge, and enjoy a cookie in the process.

The Grahams advise customers to get to know their pharmacist. The Grahams met in Northwest Arkansas 22 years ago when Jim was working on his first doctorate in chemistry and Lorri was teaching at Old High Elementary. They married, and moved to south Arkansas, where Jim was a professor for 15 years. At age 46, Jim finished his doctorate in pharmacy and began practice at USA Drug in Rogers.

Cornerstone offers area seniors unbiased help with Medicare part D planning every fall as they choose a drug benefi t plan.

They provide polypharmacy counseling and review medications for need and effectiveness. They transfer prescriptions and provide vaccinations for flu, shingles, pneumonia and more. Cornerstone can also compound medications for specifi c needs.

Unlike larger chain stores and because they are family owned, Cornerstone provides above-and-beyond service. As part of the Health Mart Pharmacy Association, they can better access national and local marketing; and as members of the American Pharmacy Cooperative, they have the buying power of a chain drug store.

Cornerstone handles the vast majority of insurance plans and matches competitors’ prices, even on special lists.

“Lorri and I chose to live in Bella Vista because it is so beautiful, the schools are great and the people are wonderful,” said Graham. “We had hoped to start our own pharmacy, so when Medicap Pharmacy closed, we jumped in with both feet. Lorri and I have canoed together, built a house together and debated the merits of whether to have stuffing or dressing for Thanksgiving dinner. So, starting a business and working together has been nothing short of a delight.”

Cornerstone is located at 2888 Bella Vista Way, 479-876-6200.

They are open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday; and 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday.
